Bread is one of the oldest prepared foods, with evidence of its consumption dating back to around 30,000 years ago.

The earliest bread was likely made from wild cereals and water, mixed into a paste and cooked on hot rocks.

The invention of leavened bread, made with yeast, is attributed to ancient Egyptians around 4000 BC.

The word "bread" comes from the Old English word "bread," which means "bit" or "piece."

Baguettes, a staple of French cuisine, were originally created in Vienna, Austria, in the 18th century.

Sourdough bread gets its tangy flavor from naturally occurring lactobacilli and wild yeast cultures.

The sandwich, a popular way to enjoy bread, is named after John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who is said to have requested his meat be served between two slices of bread so he could eat without interrupting his gambling.

Bread has cultural significance in many societies, often symbolizing hospitality, sustenance, and community.

Different cultures have their own unique types of bread, such as naan in India, tortillas in Mexico, and challah in Jewish tradition.

Bread-making has evolved over centuries, with modern techniques incorporating various grains, flavors, and methods to produce a wide range of bread products.

It is made from a high-hydration dough, which gives it a moist and slightly dense interior with a crisp crust.

Ciabatta dough typically contains flour, water, salt, yeast, and sometimes olive oil.
